Vermicomposting? What's That?Vermicomposting is composting with worms - and red wigglers are the ideal species. Worm composting is superior to regular composting because of the nutrient-rich soil and tea that are produced as a byproduct of this specialized composting process. Worm composting is simple, hassle-free, it can be done indoors or outdoors, and it's is odour-free. Don't Forget to Make Your BedJust like other animals, worms need a comfortable place to live. It's easy to make bedding, the material worms live in. Just collect and mix together shredded leaves, shredded newspaper and cardboard, peat, moss, shredded straw, chopped-up old hay, dried grass clippings and old manure. The bedding in your new worm bin will gradually assimilate with the food and will eventually mix with the worm castings to become nutrient-rich worm soil. All Things Organic has many types of bins to choose from, and all the red wigglers and bedding you need to get started. Revolutionary Bin Designs & New Composting ConceptsOrder the size ideal for you depending on family size and gardening needs. * Shipping and Handling cost to be determined when you supply your complete address including Zip/Postal Code. Speed of delivery relevant to cost. Example; Air freight much higher than ground freight. ATO Red Wigglers - It's All About Worms!ATO Red Wigglers are the ideal worms for bin composting since they thrive in that environment, consume greater amounts of waste and can tolerate the higher temperatures involved with composting. Other varieties, especially earthworms, cannot withstand higher temperatures, higher concentrations of compost and an enclosed environment. Red wigglers love compost. All food waste, except for dairy products, meats, fats and oils can be used in your worm compost bin. Chopping and shredding will greatly speed up the decomposition process , which can be completed in as little time as two to three months. * Shipping and Handling cost to be determined when you supply your complete address including Zip/Postal Code. Speed of delivery relevant to cost. Example; Air freight much higher than ground freight. ATO European NightcrawlersNo, these are not tourists at Octoberfest, ATO European Nightcrawlers are large worms ideal for composting and great bait worms requiring no refrigeration in storage. * Shipping and Handling cost to be determined when you supply your complete address including Zip/Postal Code. Speed of delivery relevant to cost. Example; Air freight much higher than ground freight. ATO Super SoilWhen your bin is full or when four to six months of composting time has elapsed, the rich soil can be harvested. You'll find the finished soil on the bottom, and on the very top you will find food, bedding and worms, all of which you should return to the bin to re-start the composting process. The nutrient-rich compost that you harvest is SUPER SOIL, having been created by worm castings. It can be added to the soil of your indoor plants or to your garden. This worm soil is much richer in plant micro-nutrients, compared to normal compost or regular soil, because of the high reduction in waste ratio that is unique to worm composting. These micro-nutrients can be up to seven times more nutrient rich than regular soil. ATO Worm Tea - Serve Your Plants TeaWorm tea is the liquid portion of the composting process, and all bins available from All Things Organic are specially designed to enable you to extract this valuable, super-concentrated product. Diluted half and half with water, worm tea becomes an excellent plant food. Research & DevelopmentAll Things Organic is constantly updating and improving all aspects of our worm bin design.
